Creativity in Computer Science Engineering

What are the options in CSE that a creative person would find interesting? It's in 10th grade that we have to decide which stream to choose - Medical, Non-Medical, Commerce or Arts. At that time, I was pretty much confused. Since my grades were pretty nice, I just decided to choose non-med and after 10+2, I opted for BTech in CSE. Third semester is going to start soon, and now I'm wondering what to learn. I'd say I'm kinda ok at coding but I don't exactly love it. I'm kind of a creative person. So any suggestions what I could do in CSE? I've tried learning web development and it's pretty much fine. But then again, do I really love it?

@nightsky19 I have myself completed Computer science engineering 5-6 years back and never liked coding. Although I work in IT company now, but am not into development. I am into service management, which is an extension of application support and maintenance. It takes less time to realise what you do not love than what you love. You are still in third sem, you have lot of time to understand what you like and dislike, whether you want to go for coding-development, testing or networking or support. The main issue is if you get selected in campus placement, it is the company that will decide what project you will take and what area will be suitable for you. So, you may end up doing coding even if you dont like it and sometimes people develop real interest after they actually start working on it. For now, keep you basics clear and have good understanding of languages like C++ and Java and be good in DBMS.

@nightSky19 As a fresher you dont need to worry much about CV, do not try to put too much into CV as that may backfire sometimes in campus placements. The companies usually expect a good aptitude, excellent communication skills and technical affinity when they select in campus placements. If campus placement is not your aim and you are lookig for applying job on different portal as fresher, then you may take some specialise training in technology of your choice. What I mean to say is do not try to figure out at this point what you really like in terms of CV, just focus on what you like and try to keep CV simple as a fresher.

One thing just keeps bugging me. How to make a good CV? The only seniors I've known just love web developing and have done quite well in it. So obviously they have some pretty good projects for their CV. But if I just keep on trying to figure out what I really like, then what am I going to put in my CV.

There are endless creative opportunities in the field of CSE you can learn VFX ,3D printing, Photoshop, video mixing, or several such Technologies. For some of the softwares you just need to have basic knowledge of coding and ability to use computers like there are drag and drop components you just need to plug and play . You have time as you are still a student so keep exploring all the opportunities that might interest you

Go with what you enjoy and can earn income too. If you are happy with what you choose you will more than likely be good at it. Here is the thing. There is no law that says you must choose a path in the days of your youth and you will never ever be allowed to change course. As long as you are alive and have the health and strength to do something, do it!

I am in last year and web designing is super cool. Try html css, javascript, nodal js, bootstrap, php, etc. And don't think CS is all about coding. Its lot of Database, data structures, and lots of other things. Coding is just 10%. And if u are damn creative with drawing nd math try animation. Its in demand.
