Brittany Ghiroli reports the news from Boston Massachusetts Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter has demoted from the starting rotation right handed pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez to the relief pitching team. Jimenez, 32 has started 13 games for the Orioles during the 2016 baseball season with a record of three wins and seven losses with an earned run average of 6.89. Jimenez will be replaced on the Orioles starting rotation by right handed pitcher Yovani Gallardo who is currently pitching for the Norfolk Tides which is the AAA minor league team of the Orioles on a rehabilitation assignment. Gallaro will rejoin the Orioles team on Saturday to make his next starting assignment after he was placed on the 15 day disabled list on April 23, 2016 with tendinitis on his right bicep and shoulder. Jimenez will be working as a long relief pitcher for the Orioles for the time being.

Gallardo is a main starter for Baltimore. Jimenez has a pretty bad record for a good team and perhaps will correct himself in the minors. He was a decent pitcher for a few years.

I didn't think so at the time, but apparently the Rockies were on to something when they got rid of him. He seems to be getting worse.
