The Best Medicine

Rooftop party in Manhattan

The best medicine anyone can have is a taste of happiness and lots of laughter. I have had my medicine. It worked. Many of you know that we had a funeral for my husband's brother last Thursday and our granddaughter's 8th family birthday party on Sunday. After fighting more than 2 1/2 hours of traffic accidents on the way to Manhattan, we arrived only 5 minutes late. But the other set of grandparents arrived an hour late, for the same reasons. The party was held on the "green" rooftop overlooking the Hudson River, midtown, and Central Park. There were seating arrangements, tables for picnics, game playing, and even dinners. Although a bit breezy for me, we had a wonderful time. Gifts and checks were opened in their living room. We made it home in 1 hour 15 minutes, our normal time. We felt upbeat and glad we went to the party during our period of mourning. Don't you agree that laughter is the best medicine?

As I've read before, fifteen minutes of laughter will burn 10-40 calories.

I do agree Laughter is the best medicine. The best way to laugh is by joke. Have a joke a day after hard work is good. Do you joke also.

Sad events keep happening in our life, we should take it on our stride. We should not get carried away by sad events. Life goes on and we should enjoy those moments which come our way. To be in the company of our loved ones, laughing, chatting and gossipping with them are the best feelings.

Party on the rooftop overlooking such beautiful scenery! Great! And of course I agree that laughter is the best medicine as the Bible in Proverbs 17:22 speaks of that same thought.
