TakeControl of Your Health

Everyday I interview patients and prepare them for their upcoming doctor appointment. It baffles me when people do not know what medications or what the medications are used to treat. It is your body and your health. I beg you to ask questions, ask for alternatives if you are uncomfortable with your medication. Educate yourself about your meds. Write down what you are taking and learn what it is for. I can't identify your meds when you tell me you take a little "pink pill" Trust me there are thousands of pink pills out there :-). If your physician is unwilling to entertain your questions, find another doctor. Realize you are putting chemicals in your body that alter your chemistry. It is up to you to understand your health so you can be healthier. Be proactive you will feel better in the long run. Tell me what you think :-)

I have a list of my elderly Dad's meds in my purse at all time. I am fortunate to only take 2 medications, so no problem remember each one. People do need to take responsibility for knowing and remembering treatments and medications.
