So a while back I happened to visit my grandmother. When I looked at her it really got me into thinking that after all the saying ''Age is just a number'' holds true in real life scenario. As a child I have always seen her active. And like a typical grandmother she was always busy running after her grandchildren or making some mouth watering delicacies which grandmother's are famous for or busy spending hours in her garden or doing yoga, or whatever but she was always busy. But slowly over the course of time I have seen a gradual decrease in the commotion and I really saw her becoming more and more passive. Now she used to live with only one or two things and one of them was television. But this time around when i visited I found out she wont be able to watch television even because she recently got her eyes operated and watching television only strains her eyes. I chatted for a while and then insisted on having a look of her garden. It was only a while that I was out in the garden that I saw my grandmother coming out of the home and following me into the Garden. And the next moment I hear her yelling at me "Don't step on my plants those are the recent one's I planted,so you better keep your paws away from them". I stopped for a while and saw her toothless grin while she was explaining me proudly of her latest additions to the garden, her eyes glistening with joy when she was doing so.I couldn't resist a smile and then thought to myself Age is just a number after all.It never defines how young you feel at heart. How about you guys? What are your views on ageing?Do you really believe age is just a number? Or more importantly do you still feel young at heart? A snap from my Grandmother's Garden.

I feel and love my age when l see some things teenagers do and l think how can they do that,l think of things l did just recent years l think if l could turn back time i`ll do it all different so NO age is not just a number.

As I said in the post itself Age never defines how young one feels at heart. The place where I go to walk sometimes I witness a plenty of really really old people. And I always curse myself thinking just when we find an excuse to skip that walk these people manage to be here everyday 365 days round the year. And being a teenager myself I'd say I feel pathetic how some kids and teens behave. The world is loosing all it's precious virtues. It is a very sorry state.

I am enjoying the ageing process now as a senior citizen.. But the only frustrating thing is that sometimes, the body has it's own mind ..lol.. I know that in another few years from now, the mind would stop minding the body even more and just let it mind it's own business .. lol..

@Blue_bubble Oh yes indeed, there are more and more younger people who seem to be sicker than the older ones ..It's the unhealthy diet that we all have come to love .. You better be more careful so you can avoid that injury for the third time ..

@epiffanie Yep! I try to be very careful now. And it's not just the food habits. Sedentary lifestyle is also put to blame. The hectic lifestyle spares no room for working on one's own health

That's true you tend to develop bodily disorders as you age. But in the age where Kids are getting heart attack or developing diabetes or other neurological diseases you cant really say anything at what age you might fall prey to what diseases. I am 19 years old and I have already sustained ligament injury twice.

I do believe age is just a number, it doesn't dictate how a person should behave. You have teenagers who are more mature than 30 year adults. And so called adults throwing tantrums. I think we should all remain young at heart. Kids have no cares in the world, they are free spirited, and just enjoy each day to the fullest.

Very well said! The level of maturity does not depends on the age of the person.

Ageing is not a matter. But our activities were shown we are became to old.. When we are a kid we ran from one place to another place very fastly.. But at the stage of adult we can't.may be one or two possible.. So we dont believe ageing.. but time that proves it...nice post.. i really enjoy..
