An arrow...well, sort of

I decided to post one of my arrows-except...most of them were too large to fit in the frame of my laptop's camera-so...well, I still decided to post one of the mini ones I was working on as a cross bow bolt. Um, as far as bolts go...this is little more then a toy really-the head is made from soft aluminum, and I don't recommend that anyone use that for anything more then shooting a light bow at a very soft target-um, it will go smoosh pretty quickly...and be kinda useless as far as protecting the shaft goes. But I was just trying something out, and for the sake of ease, I used aluminum. On a lot of my arrow heads right now I am using resin from wood cement minus the fixing agent-my rational behind this is it is soft, and on impact protects the shaft of the arrow, without actually being really dangerous. It smooshes, but...right after, I smoosh it back into place. There be a whole lotta chipmunks and squirrels running around lately, and for some reason they find it great fun to run and sit in front of my target while I'm taking aim...let's say I'm being very very very careful that no accidents happen to them? Ah, archery, so stress relieving...except when it becomes stressful? Oh, if needed, the photo is mine, I took it and own it.

I used to hunt, and may again, right now it's just a hobby though:)...it's a huge stress reliever and as far as a work out goes, is a little less boring then lifting weights all the time...like, a 60 pound bow being drawn repeatedly kinda takes that place for me.

@Dramista it takes a lot of practice and working up to certain weights, it's almost like one of those things that you progress slowly, and then as you are progressing you sort of don't notice until you realize one day oh, I've gotten stronger? I used to go deer hunting, but there are only a few tags here and they are on a lotto system, like not everyone get's them, so my main focus was usually small game.

@HebrewGreekStudies Must've required a lot of strength to pull the bow and absolute focus to aim it at the animal. You hunt deers?

When I was about 13 I started getting into archery more seriously-about my 20's I dropped it for a while, but started getting into it again, probably around last winter now, (I think;).

@HebrewGreekStudies good to know. Been wanting to pick up archery as a hobby and sport. Will be going on an archery range next month.

I've always wanted to do archery, except that I don't have any place to do it. I hope you don't hit any chipmunks with that, though.

good photo - I know quite a few people who do archery and one friend who makes his own sling-shots for sporting contests too
