Is there an end to Stupidity???...

Yesterday, a thirty-three year old man described as an 'unemployed high-school teacher' in Austin, Texas, did the unimaginable. While his wife was at work, he dropped-off two of his children, three and five years old, at the daycare. Then, he went home, fell asleep and woke up four hours later. So far, so good. Where the story takes a bad turn is when he went out to the car only to find his six month old daughter, still strapped to the baby seat, hot and stiff. Then, he brings the infant in the house and puts her(you can't make this stuff up) in the refrigerator to cool down while he dials 911. While waiting for help, he tries CPR. How sad is this???...!!! The baby was probably dead of heat stroke before he took her out of the car. It was ninety degrees F. out there. Something is definitely wrong with this guy. I think I understand why he can't find a job teaching. He must have been 'hard at work' looking for employment to go home after dropping-off the kids during daytime and sleep for four hours straight. Sounds like a real 'up-and-at'em' character. And this isn't the only case. There have been other similar situations out there. Could it be that the human race is...Devolving???...One has to wonder...

That's terrible. But I don't understand how you could leave your kid in the car.

My point exactly. Under how much pressure can one be to forget how many children one has when your children should be your number one responsibility?...

@JESSY3236 Unfortunately stories about people forgetting their kids seem to be fairly common. What's different about this story is the part about the refrigerator.

He sounded like a normal guy who made a horrible mistake up until the refrigerator part. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt though and say maybe he was in shock.

@Wordly1 Probably irresponsible, maybe selfish. Meaning they think about themselves so much they forget their child. I am grasping at straws because I really do not know. Some people really should not be parents. I have also heard people doing dumb things when they are really tired and stressed out, but ya, just not seeing how you can forget your child.

I can imagine how one would feel after the fact, but, how does anyone forget about their child in the first place? Was he supposed to drop her off somewhere or take care of her himself while the wife was at work? It's a weird story all the way around.

That's not only sad but pathetic. How could he miss the child in the infant seat? I wonder what he told his wife? Cooled her down in the fridge? I wonder if they're going to do a psych evaluation on the guy.

He's a fool! Only a foolish man will do that to his kids while his wife is working. He should be punished for what he had done to the baby.

He probably will, but, not enough to 'suit the crime' as they say. But, he'll have a lifetime of regretting that fateful day, that is, if he has a conscience.

I think we are in a way getting stupider as we are relying too much on tech.
