Ownership of guns and the second amendment

This is my opinion only. I have no issue with the idea of people owning guns, I have an issue with the types of guns people want to own. Hand guns and rifles (normal) should be the only types of guns allowed for a citizen to own. High powered rifles, machine guns, and assault weapons should be illegal. In my opinion these are weapons for war. Anyone using these types of weapons are not trying to injure or take down anything, your intent is to kill with these weapons. I don't understand why they is such a hard concept to understand, if you look back on all the tragedies over the last couple of years the shooters had high powered guns. Everyday citizens have no need for these type of weapons. If you want to own a gun you should have to go through some type of training before you get your permit. You have to be trained before you get your license - why not a gun. We need to do better, too many innocent people are loosing their lives.
