Do you like flavored potato chips or do you avoid such things?

It seems in the United States alone, millions are spent by consumers on potato chips and other snack items. While some snack might not be too unhealthy, the amount of money people are willing to pay for such things is a shock. Some bags of chips are almost $5. What in the world are people thinking? Do you like such things as flavored potato chips?

I prefer the plain potato chips. At one time I did like the Pringles Ranch ones and once in a while get them. But not often.

It all depends on the price and if the store has a brand of the same thing. As for price in some cases $5 is cheap!!

Us too when it comes to price. 2/1 makes it a little more 'okay' at times.

I love potato chips but because of the fat content blah blah I rarely buy them. If I decided to have some - and it would be a small pack - the price wouldn't worry me too much. I have no idea what they cost here.

We're talking about crisps right? If so then yes l buy quite a lot of Pringles and Walker's as l like to have them around for when l'm watching something and don't feel like pop corn. As for flavoured chips l don't think they sell those here

I was never one for potato chips. They are okay but I don't go crazy for them. Every now and then I might pick. Like at a BBQ or something.

I do my best to avoid chips. My favorite is a plain old tortilla chip, though. It has a little fiber and less salt, generally speaking. I am too much of a tightwad to regularly buy a non food, which is what potato chips are.

We try not to buy chips as they are not healthy for you, but if we decide to get some, we go for the healthier versions (though they are not exactly healthy either - healthier is relative). I usually don't buy the mainstream brand chips - I get the ones from the health food stores. They can be pricey, but mostly I'll only get the ones that are on sale. I do like flavored chips but like I said, we try not to get them at all.

I love onion and garlic so much. I am going shortly to get a bag. They cost $1 here and if they were $5 that would be the final time I would eat them. They are good but not that good. I don't knock anyone for buying them because if your working hard for your money you deserve a treat when you want one. I just prefer to put that on my bills instead of eating it.

They are supposedly making them healthier now. Using different oils and baking them instead of frying them. The sad thing is that these $5.00 chip bags are filled with mostly air!

We have corn chips on hand a lot, but buy potato chips rarely. Anne loves Trader Joe's Olive Oil Potato chips, at about $2.99 as do I. That is as far as flavors go with us.

@PatZAnthony Anne only wants them around for her birthday, so we are just finishing the bag slowly.

I like ALL foods but as much as I like potato chips I have them very seldom--flavored or not, rippled or not! PS All potato, corn, tortilla--all kinds of chips plus pretzels--are a dollar a package at The Dollar Tree store!

We enjoy some but have to say these are not our first choice in a snack food.

I like the "normal" flavors like bbq or sour cream and onion only.

Our kids & I like chips a lot, years back. But, when relatives & friends stated telling their ordeal on their kidneys (some, surprisingly, were scheduled to having dialysis, ASAP), we stopped.

It makes me sad to see lots of people queuing for flavored french fries in a nearby grocery store and also when I see the grocery carts of many shoppers with big bags of potato chips and other junks. It is as if I am the only one not buying them. Lucky me.
