which is the best place to blog?

I have tried many websites,and blog platforms, but I am still confused. I want a free or cheap platform, but it should be permanent. It should never delete my data even after years. It should have most of the settings and templates.
Any one who can help me?

Hi @jayaramas! What hosting company did you use that deleted your files? Did you use free hosting?

@annierose it was online pdf type uploading and i have the text matter saved but the effort in organizing photos and text is lost.

I started with blogger, and still have a few small blogs there. For my main blog though, eventually I got my own website and self-hosted Wordpress. But for starters, either Wordpress.com or Blogger.com are both very user friendly.
As far as never deleting, I still have an old blogger that I haven't updated since 2008 that still is out there.
