I have my bacon donut addiction firmly under control

Bacon donuts from the bakery

I had heard about bacon donuts. I had laughed about bacon donuts. And then I had a bacon donut. There is a bakery close to my house that sells these things. I’ll only have one every few months, I said. By the time I had been in Oklahoma just a little over three months, I should only have eaten one, two tops of these things. I had four of them in three months! But -- I've been better! I've gone back to my original plan of only have one every three months, and it's stuck. It's been hard, though. I cannot even begin to describe how good these things are. . Photo credit: My photo, submitted for evidence. Revised from post originally on Bubbles, now gone

I'm lucky that I've never been a big 'sweets' eater. My downfall is carbs and salty foods.

I know what you mean for your love of donuts. I have never heard of bacon donuts though.

I had seen pictures of them on the internet before, and always thought they looked gross. I still do think they're not the most photogenic of foods, but they make up for it in taste.

It's a good thing that you can control yourself, as they must be pretty loaded!

I don't even want to know what the damage is carb and calorie wise. Not to mention fat.

I think I never tried a donut in all my life. I had to when I traveled in the United States, now it's too late.

They are overly sweet, which is why I never really ate them before.

@mawhite If they are overly sweet, it's not something that I would like.

Yes! I was the same way. When we first moved her, it had been years and years and years since I had ever had a donut. When I saw these I tried one out of curiosity, and - wow! That was the end of that!

I never knew such a confection existed but it seems bacon is turning up in anything and everything.

I don't understand everyone's obsession with bacon. Especially wanting to put it in desserts. Denny's has a bacon sundae and all the grease from the bacon just settles in the bottom of it. It is so disgusting.
