Just like how spelling for this word can be different, whether it's a person spelling it with an "i" or a "y", there will always be a difference in the way happiness is perceived by one. Different things make people happy.

I don't understand what you're saying here. The adjective 'happy' is always written with a 'y'. The noun 'happiness' is always written with an 'i'. It's not up to a writer which way to write the words. A language has rules.
