Rocking Chairs At The Hospital

Yesterday , when I went to the hospital for my medical laboratory examination to check again my cholesterol , glucose and the like , I was surprised to see those two rocking chairs at the lobby .
Since it was just 7:30 a.m. , there were no patients yet waiting at the lobby .
I approached the rocking chairs’ area and saw that they were donated for the elderly by a certain foundation .
I took the liberty of sitting and rocking one of it while I was waiting for the secretary of the doctor to arrive so I can get my approved laboratory requests and have it done .
I felt so good and relaxed while I was rocking the chair . No wonder , even the not so old people likes sitting in it .
In fact , we have a rocking chair at my parents’ house where my mother would usually sit while watching the TV at the receiving room . If she’s in their bedroom , I would also always sit there .
And what a pleasant idea by the hospital, to have those two rocking chairs for the elderly at the lobby .
Just sharing . . .

That was similar to us also when our daughter was still a kid .
We have an old rocking chair and hubby would rock our baby to sleep whenever she has a hard time sleeping because of colds.
Really , you can read while rocking the chair ? Good for you .
I can't , because somehow it makes me dizzy .

I remember my father's rocking chair when I was very young. He told me that was where he used to lull me to sleep. It was my father who took care of me when I was a new born baby since Mom was having a difficult time after giving birth.

@SIMPLYD Yes, but the rocking chair was thrown away when I was 8 or 9 years old.

So your father too , had that .
The rocking chair can really help a person lull the baby to sleep . At least , it would be easier that way , because one gets to also relax while lulling the baby to sleep.
Hubby used to lull our baby to sleep too in our rocking chair , specially when our kid has colds and cannot sleep well .

Most Americans have at least one rocking chair- especially the elderly.

@RichardMeister it's relaxing , in the first place , while the chair is rocking.

It is very thoughtful of this foundation to donate them to the hospital. The elderly will certainly sing their praises as long as they sit in them.

I nearly doze off , but i am apprehensive that some elderly would already arrive and i have to vacate the rocking chair .
Besides , i don't want to doze off in public because they would see me with my gaping mouth while is sleep.
