"It's Complicated" Considering your Relationship,Marriage or being Single?

Nowadays when we are editing social profiles, we get to the Marital Status. This is were I am trying to get an understanding and would love to know how some people put their status as "It's Complicated". I think they should put Separated end of story. RIGHT? Maybe not, idk! Let me know what you think. :)

Its complicated may not mean separated but complicated.BTW have you seen the movie?

yes i too saw many of them like that. In my profile it is married. ha ha i still not understand the meaning of the status it is complicated. I think they are making it more complicated.

Maybe they are dating and has a mutual understanding but is not committed so they date other people until they will find a person who will fully commit or will date them exclusively.

yeah I get what your saying, either "You are" or "You ain't" simple as that! but everyone don't like SIMPLE I guess.

Nope, I think 'It's Complicated' can be used for those in a relationship but that they are having issues, yet are working/attempting to work through them. I also know a couple people that use the 'It's Complicated' status update, who are actually single but have children. They find it sometimes gets people that may be interested to ask about it. since some people don't want to share details in a public forum (while others don't care), it opens the conversation up.

I think they need to stop asking, it's no ones business if a person is single, in relationship, married or separated.
I usually go with single and let them figure things out if they want.

Status itself start makes you complicated before choosing he he !
If you are sure then its easy but if you are single ready to mingle then ok Choose Single and if your relationship ask your partner shall we or are we are on same page before disclosing and Married yes everybody knows about you ... and Separated term it self seems ... take your own risk and warn other people also .... then comes of Complicated ... Means what to do what not to do .... very fragile to handle or accept anything i guess
