A stranger in my backyard

Lately I have been feeling like a stranger, an intruder in my on back yard. This is all because the animals seem to have taken over. There is a new batch of bunnies feasting on my young vegetables and they are as bold as ever. When I get close to their hideouts in the course of my gardening duties they simply stare me down and stand their ground. There is also a new crop of young and feisty squirrels and an abundance of birds who have made my backyard home or their favorite place to visit. I do enjoy the lone singing bird but when dozens of birds are chirping, singing and generally being noisy at the same time can be a bit much and I can't even tell them to shut up. I can't blame the intruders since I have made my backyard into an oasis where the animals and critters feel safe. There is water, food galore, trees and shrubs and nooks and crannies, to hide out in. I am not complaining, it's just lately I have begun to see myself as the outsider, encroaching on wildlife territory. Now I know how the animals feel when we humans enter their territory.

It sounds like a wonderful back yard for animals and people. Birds love our yard. Not too many other visitors. One chipmunk, the mole who wreaks havoc on the garden. The occasional skunk, badger, deer, and fox wander through.

I wouldn't be at all happy at critters eating my plants, and birds can be a nuisance especially the racket they make at dawn.

i get that feelin' 't times out here'n my wee sanctuary. spring brings challenges's they fly/hop/run outta sight, but's they grow accustomed to mine 'n the pups presence, they pay's no mind. don't feel's a stranger though, 'nstead be thankful fer their acceptance. which's more'n most humans do, e'en with other humans.

Yes. You have made a mini forest for them to survive, that is really great. I appreciate you . Now days no one is growing plants and three is no place to see the animals or birds.

I know what you mean. We seem to be chittered at by squirrels and cawed at by crows during the day - and then 'owled at be owls at night!

The animals and birds must really feel at home in this haven you have created for them. I do hope they don't kick you out.

One should have the heart to feel and enjoy it. But, not everybody..
