'Left or right?' she asked herself as she decided what road to take. She was trailing the SUV of her husband on a van she rented so as not to raise any suspicions. Her husband said that he will be out of town for a business trip, some business trip it turned out to be. Her husband had at least three women in the SUV with him. She had lost the SUV because of the rush hour traffic. She looked at the van's GPS and searched for nearby hotels. Nothing. She looked for restaurants in the area. Then she saw it. She drove by the docks. By the yacht club she saw the SUV parking. Her husband has always liked the water. She remembered seeing some documents about a yacht purchase. She decided to wait it out in the van. 6:00 pm. She sees her husband walking back to the SUV, three women in tow. Women? Members of the oldest profession most likely. She won't be surprised if one of them is a secretary in his company. Or perhaps a young manager looking to climb up the corporate ladder. They will all pay. Her husband will pay. As her husband was fishing out his keys from his pocket, a delivery van parked nearby. Out came a clown holding a bunch of balloons and a birthday cake. The clown sang his rendition of the birthday song to the husband. The wife smiled. The husband and the three women looked surprised, amused even. After the song, the clown handed the balloons to the husband and placed the cake on the hood of the SUV. The clown was motioning for one more surprise. He reached to his pocket and brought out a pistol with a silencer in the muzzle. One by one he gunned down the women. Head shots. They were dead before their lifeless bodies hit the pavement. 'Let go of the balloons and you are a dead man,' the clown said to the husband. The husband was shocked beyond belief. The wife drove over and as she stepped out the van, she pulled out a knife. The husband seeing his wife knew what was coming next. Blade met flesh. Crimson tide drenched the husband's neck. Balloons in the air. As a final goodbye, the wife struck the knife right through the her husband's heart. She turned to the clown and said, 'Leave the gun and the van. Take the cake.' The wife smiled. She smiled at her best Peter Clemenza impression.
