I fiddled with the slider and finally managed to get sound. I first thought that my sound card had gone bananas, but it turns out that there is likely a problem with the browser's flashplayer add-on functions. If a page loads but the flash player I think Adobe is the company behind the most recent one out there, the page is still loading the add-ons and ads and so forth, perhaps a slow load time might be the reason. In any case, after fiddling with the volume slider I got the sound to work. Funny thing in my view.
