Do you wear a hat to cover up a bald spot or because you just like wearing hats?

I wear hats to keep the sun off my nose. The fact is, I adapted this kind of thing back before I began balding. I hit my head on a low hanging limb while cutting a customer's lawn and it hurt my neck more than my head. Had I been doing the lawn without a hat on I would have seen the darn thing. Back to wearing hats. Do you wear hats as a fashion statement? Do you wear hats because you like the way the look on you? or ... Do you wear a hat to cover a bald spot on hour head? I prefer to wear baseball hats with some kind of logo on them. These are so popular in Dallas that they are sold in almost all stores all over the city. If I had all of the hats I used to own the count would be about 30 or so. I got rid of many of these and kept only the few I really like. The count is down to about 9, including a black Fedora sued and actually I hardly ever wear it but my favorite one is the one I wear practically every day. It protects my face from the Texas sun and for that reason I wear it, and it is a Dallas statement.

I usually only wear a hat while out fishing to keep the sun off my face.

One good thing about having a hat when laying in a lounge chair at the beach or any other place under the sun, you can cover your face to get some zzz's

Hats are the first thing a stranger sees when he or she approaches you and looks at you for some strange reason so it is important to, if you want to make a good first impression to wear a nice hat, that is if you like hats and in your case, you don't so it would be hair style that you might have to be concerned with unless of course, like some of those I have read lately are bald. I once was given a military style haircut and it took 6 months for it to grow out and I did not wear a hat much because I was so proud of my hair cut.

I used to wear a hat to cover the bald spot, but then it got to a point where I only wear a hat to prevent the bald spot from burning in the sun. Otherwise I don't bother.

@lookatdesktop Well the spot now covers my head, and these days the hats get dirty too easily, so I generally don't worry about it.

I don't wear one. I use an umbrella when it's too hot or when it's raining.

That sounds practical for your neck of the woods. In Texas nobody uses a parasol but then I do sometimes see a person walking up the road with an umbrella. It does work on very hot days when the temp is up in the 3 digits. We expect 106 next week.

With it as hot as it gets in Texas, that is understandable. I have a hat I love to wear. It looks good on me. I loved the hat before I tried it on. Looking good on me was the bonus. It's black and I wear it all the time.

My husband wears hats, he always tries to get me to wear them. When I met him, it was cowboy hats that he wore, at that time he had long hair, and the hat was to keep out the sun, rain or snow. Now he wears his hair short, and it is grey. He often wears baseball caps or various other kinds of hats. When I've tried to wear a hat, I find that I'm always taking it off, then I ten to lose it.

My wife don't wear hats either. But she knows a time when women wore hats as a matter of fashion.

I don't wear a hat. I've not much hair at the front but have shaved my head for years so hats are of no interest to me really.

Well then you are not a hat man. I guess some like hats, and some just don't.
