A Silver Lining

Do you remember my posting about having to find out the last four digits of my deceased friend's social security number? Oh how I wrung my hands over that one, even after I'd shelved it to concentrate on getting certified copies of the death certificate, which was also required in order for me to apply for the bequest.
I finally got those death certificates and right there on the certificate was the social security number I needed! Imagine that! The Government came through with a much-needed silver lining.
As far as I know, my checks are now in the mail.

Yes. I'm sure my deceased friend is smiling somewhere in the afterlife, if such a place exists.

Thank you. I'd gladly give up the bequest to have my friend be alive and healthy.

Thank you Anna.
I was relieved to get the information I needed without having to disturb the family in their time of grief. Also, I had thought I'd have to go to the government office to present my case in order to get the info, and now I don't even have to do that. Truly this was a silver lining.

I'm sorry for your loss, but that must be a load off your mind.

Indeed it is a load off my mind. I'll totally relax when the checks arrive, even tho they be for small amounts. It kinda feels like a hug from my deceased friend.
