Could it get any better?

I cannot believe what I'm reading over the news everyday and today is really not any different. To start off, more shootings and I believe you know where, Louisiana and Florida - is US at war or erupting to another civil war? Then, there's the much buzz about the failed military coup in Turkey, more fatalities and casualties. What is happening to the country? Is the current government so incapable and dishonest? The war in Syria still has not seen that day of light as far as peace is concern, despite the interventions of foreign countries namely Russia, America and France. Let's not forget that it has been more than 5 years already. Today, we hear that the Syrian forces are cutting off the rebels in Aleppo and I just have to ask where's the justice here. Is the current president so damnable and a tyrant? Then, there's Qandeel Baloch a well known Pakistani social media celebrity who was unbelievably killed by her own brother in what was believed to be an act of honor killing - in the name of a loving religion?! Really? So ISIS has claimed responsibility over the fatal killings over Bastilles Day in Nice. Holy Jihad by a non Muslim organization from the Islamic quarters but claimed to be Muslim themselves (ISIS)! Unbelievable that they are unstoppable till today with all that modern technology. After more than a decade, a report is coming out to reveal the Saudi's involvement in that horrific 9/11 attack. Seems like opening a can of worms here, if you ask me. What's happening and the point or points of it all? If you still it isn't tragic enough our Weibo live (China FB equivalent) came on how a young 19 year old girl attempted suicide twice and not only succeeded killing herself but 5 others who tried to rescue her. On the sporting front, Phil Mikelson has another nearly again after being edged out by another fellow competitor, Henrik Stenson from behind at the just concluded British Open Golf Championship. Is there any thing that is not so negative or worthwhile here?

It is really very easy these days for people to resort to the extremes these days. Even a stare could start some very violent reaction and get people killed too. So unless people start recognizing that there are ways to destress one's self there will be no way these violent act rates are going to decline.

@MGjhaud Understandable considering the diverse magnification of such news which is attention grabbing and hence high viewership.

"Wonders will never cease."Nowadays there is no respite from trouble and unrest in the world.Perhaps what have happened in Iraq,Libya , Syria ,etc.would give us an idea of what lies behind them.

These days politics is becoming more and more dirtier. The Middle East has been bleeding for ages and it has become worse. I just don't know when they will ever regain the peace we once know. I simply feel for them.

well, the golf tourney didn't turn out so tragic? fer me personally, i believe that too much emphasis's put'n the ugly insanity that seems to be engulfin' our world. hate 'n fear feedin' 'n spawnin' more. folks desire to not take responsibility fer their own actions, but point the finger elsewhere. lack'f consequences fer one's actions 'n a swift manner, maybe? i fear i've no answers :(

But it is really disappointing to see Phil coming so close to winning yet another title. I just have to give him my applause for sticking it out and carrying on.

News today play on dramatics to draw viewership. News channels are much more commercialized than back in those days and I can understand the reason for it. So these news tend to draw more attention than any thing else at the end of the day.

I'm sure there must be a tale somewhere about a dog rescuing somebody out of a burning building. The media just did not find it worthy of note.

I believe it could be found in some sub category or sections other than the headlines. This is one of the bad and sad part of news coverage and reporting today.

We live in what the Bible calls "critical times hard to deal with." I don't know if you read the Bible, but according to Bible prophecy we have every reason to believe that this world is deteriorating fast on many different levels. Any thinking person can see that what is going on in the world is in fulfillment of Bible prophecies. I didn't realize that China had Weibo, which is equivalent to FB, or that international news was available to you, but obviously you do have access to all of the news around the world. The question that most people have is what does this all mean? What can we expect to happen next? The Bible has that answer also.

It does seems like it has become more and more challenging year after year - the economic crisis, Arab Spring, civil demonstrations, labor strikes, UK's disunion, civil wars - Sudan, Syria, Libya and so on. I've heard friends from the Christian circles who hold similar views as you. I hate to see where it will eventually head but I'm certainly not going to take any sides here. However, I will do every bit whatsoever to help like charities and petitions to end the war. I believe that's what every one will be keen to do.

Reading your post halfway, gave me a depression. The world definitely calls for a change; only, when it will come, remains a matter of anticipation.

I understand where you are coming from when you say you feel depressed and I guess helpless as well. But let me ask you to let these events motivate you to do something for yourself and surroundings. I think it would really help a lot when we go about standing up against things that are really wrong and walk away to show your disapproval to a wrong cause. It is when we start doing something will we have a better surrounding today and a prospective future tomorrow. Otherwise we will be grinding meaninglessly and see evil triumph on day by day.

@artemeis We all, I believe, feel depressed when we come across such aforementioned acts of terrorism, irrespective of where we come from. I sure feel helpless for my Nation is a victim, of NOT homegrown terrorism but terrorism that is infiltrated from across the borders. It goes without much saying that I am extremely thankful to the brave soldiers of my country who stand guard against those fanatics of violence and keep citizens like me-- safe. Unlike Europe and some of the neighboring nations of my land, who fight terrorism and violence on an everyday basis, India is much much safer and at peace. And yes, I agree with you that we should all stand together against those who wish to harm our integrity and peace.

On this note, I have to add that I am surprised that our local and popular chicken stock has even upgraded like our OS in our computers and mobile devices but our humanity seems to be stagnant.

No, it won't. If you are talking about the terrorist attacks around the world stopping, no they won't. If you are talking about the freedom and independence of women being given to them, no it won't. If you are talking about the ending of wars starting all over the world, no it won't. But one thing that is definitely happening is the loss of humanity everyday. These pieces of news, make us aware of things happening around the world, but at the same time harden us from inside, and what is actually a horrific event going on out there, becomes nothing but a piece of news from yesterday's newspaper, thrown away in the garbage.

I cannot disagree with you and I just wish that more could be done to stop all that madness especially in those countries that are fighting amongst themselves.
