That's right, I'm hiding their name from the title of the discussion. I don't want to be responsible for medical emergencies when you see this act's name in that title and go, "Holy cow, they had another hit????" This (and number one) will shock you. Sit down. As I said, I don't want to be responsible for any physical or emotional damage. #2: Stealer's Wheel One of the most iconic lines from any song in the 1970s is the chorus of Stealer's Wheel's massive hit, "Stuck In the Middle With You": Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, Here I am, stuck in the middle with you If you turn on an "oldies" station today or a "70s" station on satellite you're going to hear this song today. Peaking at #6 on the Billboard charts, and with that great punch line of a chorus, all delivered by Gerry Rafferty's wonderful voice, what's not to love? And YES, they DID have another hit. I wouldn't lie to you. In 1974 their song "Star" peaked at #29 on the Billboard charts. The duo (Joe Egan was the other member) had a messy, messy legal battle with their record label, effectively ending the original band. Rafferty went on to record another iconic 70s song, 1978's "Baker Street." (And if you're wondering, he had a total of five top 40 hits.) He died of liver failure associated with years of alcohol abuse in 2011. Stealer's Wheel gave us one of the great songs of the 70s. They also gave us another hit, an excellent song, that's been forgotten. Here's "Star," the other Stealer's Wheel hit:
Scottish duo, Gerry Rafferty and Joe Egan appearing on German TV show Beat Club as Stealers Wheel back in the 70s. "Star" was the follow up to the successfu...

I don't recall Star at all, but Stuck in the Middle was a great one, as was Baker Street.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard this one....The late Gerry Rafferty will be best remembered for Baker Street.
