My daughter is on vacation with my dad and niece

My daughter left today with my father and niece to go up to my dads lake house. They will be gone until the 25th. I was the one who suggested it so the girls could go to the amusement park together and ride rides but now I am a nervous mom with my daughter away from me. She's 12 and I am sure she will be fine but I just get nervous. My house is a disaster so I am getting that cleaned up today and writing some reviews on Amazon for some things I received on AMZreviewtrader. The one thing I was really looking forward to arriving was a Natural Himalayan Salt Lamp. The lamp is awesome but one of the candle holders was broken. This is the second time I had a problem with this order. The last time it was returned before it even arrived at my house due to it being damaged. Good thing this was free or I would be very unhappy.

I'm sure your daughter will have a blast! That sounds awesome the lamp but it's a bummer it arrived broken. Can you still use the lamp? I ordered a necklace and received the wrong one. I couldn't contact the seller but paid $1 I left a review 2 stars saying I didn't get the correct one with photos saying it's wrong and there's no option to reach out to the seller. They contacted me and said something with Amazon mixing up their inventory and they want to send me a new one but I haven't responded

Yes the lamp can be used its only one of the candle holders that was broken. The lamp is nice except there is one rusty screw on the bottom. My daughter saw this today while I was testing it out and wants it in her room.

@infatuatedbby It is the company themselves that is the problem. Even though the things I ordered were sent in a larger box with lots of air packages... inside the box of the lamp and candles there was nothing around them to protect them from bumping into each other. They should have been wrapped up in bubble wrap then put in the box.

Do not worry about your daughter. I remember when I was 12 years old, I had a lot of fun when I went vacationing in the house of my grandmother.

She was only away from me for more then a day one time when she was about 9 and went to Maryland to stay with my late husbands brother and wife. That was 5 hrs away and she was gone for 15 days. I kept hoping she would want to come home early and I would drive down to get her but she loved it and didn't want to come home early haha.

@shaggin I was only two hours from home and my Mom called almost every day to know if I was fine or if I wanted to go back home. Of course not.

I will definitely worry when my children are not with me, as they have been with me almost all the time. I am not sure if I still worry when they are 12, probably. Lake house sounds nice! I wish I have a chance to visit a lake house too. I have never been any. Hope you will enjoy these few days without your daughter. I am sure she will have fun with her grandfather and cousin, and the amusement park too.

He lives a mile from the downtown area. The lake is stunning. His house is being remodeled very slowly after being ruined years ago from flooding. It has only the other walls and some insulation in spots. As of about two weeks ago it had a toilet and shower. We lay on air mattresses on the unfinished floor. It's not a nice house just better then camping out in the elements. Its also no cost whereas staying at a hotel this time of year there would be a few hundred dollars a day.

They just needed to wrap the things in the boxin bubble wrap so they wouldn't bump into each other and break then it would be fine. When I'm nervous I clean so my house is looking so much better now.
