My husband and I, along with three of our adult daughters and three of our granddaughters, are all fans of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" TV shows. Having raised four daughters, we can relate to all the dating "adventures" and over-the-top emotions. We live next door to a film editor and his wife, a retired TV show producer. We went out to dinner together and mentioned that our family watches the "Bachelor" shows and Tweet about each episode with each other while they are going on. We all laugh a lot! Our neighbors told us we really need to watch the show "Unreal." The retired TV show producer said that "Unreal" is more real that we realize. It is a show about what goes on backstage at an imaginary show like "The Bachelor," and it is hilarious!! It shows how they get the contestants drunk, get them to cry, find people who are a bit crazy, etc. We just started watching "Unreal" and are glad that our neighbors told us about it. It is going to put a whole new perspective on "The Bachelor." I can't wait to tell our daughters and granddaughters about it.

@Lucky15 - I think our family just enjoys it because we have been through so many years of watching our own daughters go through dating and relationships! LOL

@LisaSteinmetz - I totally understand why "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" is not for everyone. When I watch "Unreal," it makes me realize just how phony a lot of show is!

@just4him - I think it is interesting from the point-of-view of seeing what these reality shows are like, behind-the-scenes. I hope you are starting to get settled from your move. My husband and I have to move in 3 1/2 weeks. We have a lot to do during that time!

@DeborahDiane 3 and a half weeks? Wow! Why? I thought you were well settled where you are. I hope it all goes well for you. I sign the lease this week and I can start moving in right away as soon as I have the keys. I still have a ways to go with the packing, but it's coming together.

@DeborahDiane I am so sorry about your husband. I know the treatment he is on has extended his life far longer than anyone expected. Still I know it's hard to see him going into decline. I'm sorry the owners of the house have gotten into a financial bind and need to sell the house. I am glad you won't be leaving the community you're in and found another place there you can call home. Yes, I imagine there will be days you won't be here. I'm sure there will be days I won't either as I get closer to my moving day.

Well, at least they are honest at how they get these people to get the drama flowing. Does sound entertaining to watch.

@crossbones27 - Yes, I think that what makes "Unreal" so interesting is that is shows exactly how they create all that drama. I bet what happens on the dating shows is pretty much the same as what happens in those survival shows, "real" women shows, weight-loss shows and other reality shows.

@jstory07 - If you have ever watched a reality show and thought the people on it were acting crazy or emotional, you will understand why they were acting that way after watching "Unreal."

Although this show is not something we have watched here, we do know many find it interesting. Unreal probably won't be seen either. We are boring (readers and artists) so don't see much TV.

I am a big fan of both Bachelor & Bachelorette and started watching Unreal last season. It does make me believe that what goes on is more real than unreal.

@Marilynda1225 - I'm glad to meet another fan of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette." I do believe that the emotions, behavior and "craziness" on the shows is very real!

@DianneN - Oh, I can't imagine watching these shows if I had raised boys. I think that my husband and one of my son-in-laws are both good sports because they will watch the shows with us, too. My husband especially likes "Unreal" because the behind-the-scenes stuff shows how they get these people on reality shows to get overly emotional.

I think watching this show has already changed my entire perspective when I watch the contestants on the real "Bachelor" shows get upset, angry or emotional. Now I realize how they are being goaded on.

I've seen those back stage programs where they get the contestants all worked up to put on a good show. Some times I feel sorry for the contestants.

@RubyHawk - Now that "Unreal" is on the air, I wonder if they will have a harder time getting legitimate people who want to be on the show.

We have a show here called gogglebox which shows people sitting watching television shows and their reactions. It has become quite a fun thing. People's reactions are the same as you would do at home too. It is quite funny!
