Jeff Passan reports the news the Arizona Diamondbacks are placing their handed pitcher Shelby Miller on the trade block. Miller who was acquired by the Diamondbacks in December 9, 2015 along with pitcher Gabe Speier from the Atlanta Braves for Diamondbacks shortstop Dansby Swanson, outfielder Ender Inciarte and pitcher Aaron Blair. Miller had been sent to the Diamondbacks AAA minor league team the Reno Aces on July 14, 2016 since Miller started 14 games for the Diamondbacks with a pitching record of two wins and nine losses with an earned run average of 7.14. The Major League Baseball Trade deadline is on July 31, 2016. It remains to be seen if any team in the Major Leagues that is contention to make it to the playoffs is willing to trade away some of their prospects for the services of Miller. The Diamondbacks are not in contention to make a playoff run this current baseball season.

Miller's value has plummeted greatly and has a large contract. Depends on what Arizona wants in return.

That is true since Miller's value has been down the drain in 2016 due to his finger injury according to another sports report.
