Time to Start

Multiple flat tires, combined with monetary issues that prevent me from fixing the latest one, have pretty much put my cycling career on hold for now, possibly for the entire summer. So I'm going to reinvent myself as a jogger. I'll be starting off jogging around the park across the street. It's a quarter-mile loop (I've measured it on both my bike and my scooter.) I've created an account on runningahead.com so that I can keep track of my stats, and I've got a pair of New Balance running shoes on my feet. I'm going to try for a mile later tonight (not impressive, but it's been about six years since I last ran seriously. My body will let me know when to add mileage.) In high school, I ran both track and cross country, putting in 70 miles a week. And of course, in the Army, we ran everyday. I spent a little over a year in Wyoming (six years ago,) where I ran 121 miles one summer. It's time to get back to that. I've got to start somewhere, and it begins tonight.

It's a good thing that you could run. I couldn't. I have a knee injury that prevents me from jogging.

@teamfreak16 Great! Hope you could get back to riding your bike soon. I finally got the Specialised tarmac that I wanted.

Yeah, I'm lucky. I have bad knees just from wear and tear due to years of sports, but I can still run

Very impressive stats! I'm sure you'll get back to your old form in no time at all. I have to check that site that you mentioned. It sure is great to measure one's stats.

It's a pretty cool site. I'm a stat geek, and so far, it fits that need.

Good luck with that. I used to do cross country running when I was young.

Sorry to hear about the flats in your bike. :( I am not a good runner.. I mentioned that before. I will try to light jog and go from there though. Cheers to running!

It sounds as if you will be able to get back into it pretty easily. Don't push too hard.

I walk/run daily, when not raining. I enjoy it, I take the dogs with me. If I did not do this exercise daily I would weigh 200 pounds!
