Missed FedEx

Darn! Darn! Darn!
My grandson needed me to take him to get his meds at the doctor's clinic he goes to. So being the kind, thoughtful person I am, I logged off the computer and went to take him where he needed to go.
Before we got back FedEx arrived with my computer and my son didn't hear the door, so I missed him - by 20 minutes. The door tag was on my door when I got home.
I got a little vocal about missing it, voicing my irritation in missing it and my grandson got all angry at me thinking I was blaming him for missing FedEx, which was not the case, I was just voicing my irritation on missing them. Being the kind of person he is he called me a worthless piece of ______ and said he would walk to work this afternoon.
My anger did turn on him at that point and I told him it was okay with him to voice whatever he wanted to but when I did the same thing I became a worthless piece of ____. I told him I wasn't blaming him for anything, and voicing my thoughts out loud made it feel like I was walking on eggshells around him.
He apologized and asked for a ride to work because it was raining. Of course I gave it to him. I'm not a worthless piece of _____ after all. I'm a kind thoughtful person who just happened to voice my irritation at missing FedEx and my computer.
It will be re-delivered tomorrow. If need be, I'll have his father take him to work since he isn't working tomorrow and I'm not missing my computer two days in a row.
How has your day been going so far?
Thanks for reading.

I love all my grandchildren, but it doesn't mean I always like them. Jon is the exception. I need to consider how he was raised, not by his father or me. He didn't have real contact with his father or me until he was 14. If he weren't my grandson, I'd have nothing to do with him. He's extremely rude and has no respect for anyone. Yet because he is my grandson, and I do love him, I do for him the same as I do for any of my grandchildren.

My grandson has an apartment already. He'll be moving the middle of next month. My son is still looking, and has an appointment today to look at a place. If that doesn't work out, he's considering looking at the complex I'm moving into. If he doesn't have a place before we need to be out, he will move in temporarily with his girlfriend until he can find a place.

I'm glad your grandson woke up, with a bit of prodding from you, and apologized at least. He shouldn't be saying that to anyone let alone his grandmother. I will say though, that we (including me) don't always think before we insert our feet in our mouths.

I don't tolerate disrespect from my children or grandchildren and thus have never encountered it. I am glad it all smoothed out.

My grandson has. My son is still looking. He has an appointment today to look at a place. If that doesn't work out, he's considering looking at the apartment complex I'll be moving into. They have the best rates in Green Bay. Prices are so expensive for housing.

I guess that's why I like living where I live now. They always drop it off even when the door isn't answered. I'm lucky I live in a safe neighborhood though and don't have to worry about packages being stolen. When I was living at my apartment that wasn't the case.

They normally drop it off, but the computer needed a signature.

It has been fine though hot. Just waiting for sis to come in from work as I am trying to keep her dinner warm on top of the stove as she had to work til 9:30 tonight instead of the usual dayshift and since she allows me to stay here I try to provide a hot nutirious meal when she comes in. Tonight it is roastbeef simmered on top of the stove after being seared with onion and garlic and new potatoes, along with fresh fiedl peas and pan fried okra (we had planned this meal before she lnew she was working today and the okra and peas probably couldn't wait another day.

Just ate fried noodles and I'm done drinking my 2 cups of coffee. Now, I'm ready to start working. Another working day for me.
