There will be hardly anyone who likes anyone else more than himself. If we think that people praise you a lot, it is your personal misconception.The reality always bites.
They who praise you , in reality they want to be praised.Even a refusal of praise is a desire to be praised twice.
Thomas writes--
Great tranquility of heart is his who cares neither for praise nor blame.
Fuller writes--
Praise makes good men better but a bad man worse.
Praise the wise man behind his back but a woman to her face.
Plutarch writes--
Those who are greedy of praise prove that that they are poor in merit.

Sales person is another thing but
To brag a little , to show well , to crow gently , if ill luck , to pay up, to own up, and to shut up , if beaten , are virtues of a sporting man.
To boast is the quality of a weak person who can not show anything by deeds.

Those who talk too much of themselves are most likely lacking in the area they are talking about. Like someone who says they're good at martial arts probably knows a few things about it, but is really dumb at it.
