Protein Balls - new recipe

I made something pretty good yesterday. I really want to use tahini or almond butter, or sunflower seed butter, but peanut butter is what I had. Here's what I did. I put about six packets of instant apples and cinnamon oats in a bowl. (Rolled oats are a lot harder to chew, these are easy.) I mixed in about four scoops of chocolate flavored protein powder. Mine is soy and whey. I added one 16 ounce jar of peanut butter. I mixed it up into a dough, chilled it, then rolled it in ground black sesame. Result: a fairly low sugar, good tasting ball of protein with a thiamine boost. It's basically a no-bake cookie concept. You could alter the butters, add dried fruit, roll it in coconut, change the protein powder, and all kinds of other variations. I liked mine, you might too.

I love using the chocolate protein powder for healthier donuts!

@Rohvannyn you snagged the recipe from me? The only thing I would change is the "frosting" I dont like straight melted chocolate on it, working on tweaking it, so far havent found exactly what I want

I've never tried protein powder. Aren't the packets of apples and cinnamon oats sugared? Sounds tasty for sure.

I haven't noticed much sugar in the instant oatmeal. Even if there is, there's no other sugar added to it. You could use regular instant oats too, but I liked the price for the packets. (a dollar fifty for ten.) That's why it's low sugar, not no sugar. As for protein powder, it can be good - I like adding instant coffee to mine if I'm making a shake.
