Why the number of unhappy persons is more than happy persons?

Whenever I meet the persons and ask about his well being , he starts telling me about his troubles. Only a few people look happy and then I think that pain is more than pleasure in the world. I do not know the proper answer why it is so. C.E.M. Joad writes- This surely is the recipe for happiness not to have enough leisure to wonder whether you are miserable or not. In my opinion , creative imagination is the core of happiness.Happiness is not in doing what you like , but in liking what you do.The real way to be happy is to make others so.Some are unhappy because they are unmarried and some are unhappy because they are married. Some are unhappy because they do not have children and some are unhappy because they have many children.Some are unhappy because others are happy. How can man be happy?
