Joseph Nocco reports the news the Seattle Mariners have placed their right handed relief pitcher Steve Cishek on the 15 day disabled list with a torn left labrum on his left hip that could put him on the shelf for the remainder of the current baseball season if his injury will require surgery. Edwin Diaz will replace Cishek as the closer for the Mariners for the time being after the injury to Cishek is retroactive to August 2, 2016. The Mariners have sent to their AAA minor league team the Tacoma Rainiers right handed pitcher Donn Roach to make room for left handed pitcher Ariel Miranda. The Mariners will replace Cishek on their 25 man active roster by promoting from their AAA team in Tacoma right handed relief pitcher Blake Parker. The Mariners will be hosting the Boston Red Sox in the final game of a four game series at Safeco Field in Seattle Washington on Thursday.

Hopefully he recovers nicely and gets back in the game.
