Time to Leave for Today

The time has come for me to close up shop. I know it's early, but my son has to work, so I need to leave and get back to the house.
I don't know how much I actually got done today on the notifications, but I did make a small dent in them. I'm part way through August 4 and started on August 2 when I logged on today.
I was rather annoyed a short while ago. With a brand new computer, I get that scam that tells me my computer has a virus it can't get rid of, and I need to call immediately. Of course I can't just close that screen so I did the Alt, Ctrl, delete to sign off, then shut down, and turn it back on. I uploaded Avast right away. I have MacAfee but I really am getting to dislike MacAfee a lot. It came with the computer and as soon as the year is up, I won't be renewing. I might just disable it right now. We'll see.
So I'll go home, do more packing and probably have an early night unless I find something to read as the TV is here. I have the Olympics on DVR so I can watch them at my convenience. And I definitely want to watch them.
So if I don't get going, my son will be late for work. I'll be back tomorrow. You all enjoy your day/night. I hope it has been a good one for you. Thanks for reading.

I would suggest AVG for virus, it's what hubby prefers and seems to work nicely. Malware bytes is free and helps with spyware

@just4him Weird, I never have AVG do that, then again mine runs at night.

I don't like AVG. You can't do anything when it scans and it always scans when I'm in the middle of something. I just had two incidents that told me my computer was blocked and I need to call. The first time I ran a complete scan and then cleaned the cache. No viruses nothing wrong with the computer. Then it happened just a few seconds ago and again I'm shutting down and bringing it back up. So annoying. I wish these scams would go away.

@Jessicalynnt And that's when I'm most active or was when I had AVG. Avast runs in the background so it works best for me and is one of the top rated antivirus programs.

ugh, i feel fer ya gettin' that message. i got such once, not long 'so. i finally gave'p tryin' to track't all down 'n called the son who fixed 't :) glad that'cher recordin' the olympics so's ya can watch 'em later. i always start with the eldest'f notifications 'n my end 'n then work my way to the current. takes a bit'f scrollin' down, but then hopefully i don't miss any, lol.

ya might try downloadin'/runnin' adwcleaner to see if'n ya can find that culprit 'n rid yer puter 'f such once 'n fer all...'til the next time anyhow.

@crazyhorseladycx I actually did find them today while I was making sure the DVR didn't erase them before I did. I'm in the middle of watching the Opening Ceremony that I thought was erased. I know I'm way behind with the Olympics, but I can't be in two places at once and I won't buy a laptop. So I'm here while the TV is out there.

I do the same with my notifications. Unfortunately I lost some of the Olympics. Now I'm going to need to search YouTube for them. I'm glad your son was able to fix your problem with those messages. I've had two of them within a half hour of each other. Annoying.

Not yet. Another week and I will be. My son heads for Boston on Saturday for a week. When he gets back we'll get the U-Haul and get me all moved in and him wherever he's decided to lay his head. Probably his girlfriend's apartment.

@RubyHawk It looks like I'll be all moved in here next Saturday. It's the earliest we can feasibly do the move. My older son can only help on weekends, and that gives my younger son time to finish up his packing and have the house completely ready.

I've never bought an antivirus program with the availability of free antivirus and the one I have - Avast - is very good.
