Scariest Dream

I was sitting here this morning while I was drinking my coffee and was thinking about dreams. I have had a lot of nightmares in my lifetime and I'm sure all of you have too. I have dreamt of the supernatural, someone breaking in, being murdered... just to name a few scary dreams. But, the one the scared me the most didn't have anything to do with any of these dreams. I dreamt that I was looking out my window and saw a lady all in white just standing in our front yard. It was dark outside and as I stared closer, I saw that she was an angel. Something told me that if I looked directly into her eyes I would die. I tried and tried not to look at her, but I finally did look her straight in the eyes. All of a sudden, I could feel all the energy leaving my body. I started to fall and right before I died, I woke up. The dream was so vivid that it took me a while to realize that it wasn't real. I had this dream over 30 years ago and I can still remember it like it was yesterday. I know it may not sound scary to anyone reading this but it was the feeling involved that I was really dying. When I told my Mom about the dream, she said it was a warning to live my life right. I didn't really understand what she meant because I was living my life right. I was married to my second husband at the time, had two kids, had a job I loved and we were doing great. But I do wonder sometimes if there was a special meaning about that dream. What was one of your scariest dreams?

Most dreams of such nature have a deep spiritual meaning.. Have you prayed about your dream? I usually do when its that vivid and ask God to reveal to me the message he has sent. Angels are messengers and they come directly from the throne of God.. that is why you felt you would die if you looked them in their eye.. they have seen God.

I do believe that this dream had a spiritual meaning. No, at the time I didn't pray about it. I really wasn't a Christian at the time. It was when I was in my 20's.

I don't really have scary dreams but I do have action dreams where I am a spy or undercover and I do a lot of running and hiding and being chased. I never get killed, however. I guess I am a good spy lol funny I never watch that type of show.

@BelleStarr I have had dreams like that, where you wake up tired. I am usually tired all day.

I do get nightmares once in a while but usually I can't remember them. I have had conversations with my friends and family who have already passed in dreams and did remember those. I love it when they stop by to visit.

That was scary. My scariest dream happened when I was 5-6 years old. It involved a witch, well, and a woods. I knew I was lost. I had that dream many times at that time in my life.

That must have really been scary when you were so young. I wouldn't want to dream about a witch now at my age.

@Ritu96 No, I really don't know why it happens. I have always heard that if you ever hit the floor, you would really die but I think that is probably an old wives tale.

I would wonder the same. sometimes though think while we are asleep a dream comes to warn us to wake because something is going on in our body needing to deal with like maybe not breathing or something. I have had the same scary dream now and then for years about a very big house with many rooms and I am looking for something but there is some terrible thing behind one door I have to be afraid of. I keep looking in each room despite that. I come to a room I almost am certain has it and still feel I must open it, then wake up in terrible fear. there are a couple more but to much to go into now.

That sounds like a very scary dream. I wonder what it means? If it is recurring, there has to be a meaning behind it.

Oo that is a scary night mare and to have it twice oh my Sharon. The scariest night mare i had was when I was stuck on the ceiling of an old church with rafters. I started to fall and woke up right before I hit.

I don't always remember every dream, just certain ones. I do think that sometimes they do mean something. I have this recurring dream where I am always lost and trying to find my way home. Sometimes I am in a mall, sometimes outside and sometimes driving. I looked it up and it said that it meant that I felt like I didn't have control of either my life or something else and it was right now.

I hardly ever remember my dreams and if I do it's just bits and pieces of them. But, you are right dreams always mean something. Especially vivid ones like that.

This one really was very vivid and I do believe it had meaning but I just never found out what it was. I don't always remember every dream, just certain ones every now and then.
