Why are you here if you're just going to ignore people?

It's not like we all have a contract to answer every single person on here but it is starting to bug me more and more with how many people I see who start a discussion and never reply back! And they wonder why their earnings aren't going up! Or the ones who Like a comment without replying back even though the comment involved a question or two. Are these people even reading the comments they receive? Or do they just start a discussion hoping to lure as many people in to help raise their earnings with no intention on replying back? Maybe it's because I am just tired and grumpy right now but it's really bugging me. It will probably mean nothing to me tomorrow after I've had a long sleep lol but still, I thought I'd vent it while it's on my mind. What are your thoughts about this? Again, I KNOW we all have the freedom to do what we are comfortable with here but I just feel a bit annoyed when people are trying to talk to someone but get totally ignored instead.

I have noticed one person here did not actually reply to the comment i made. Hehe..That's why sometimes i'm getting tired of commenting discussions without any reply at all. It made me think that this person might not receive any comment from me or she just really hated to reply me. Sometimes, i just really feel bad because when i review her discussion only my comment to her has no reply or even just like.

I read and reply to what interests me. If I write a discussion, I try my best to reply to each and every comment. If I can't think of a reply, I at least give the person a 'like.' I try to follow back if someone follows me. I know I fail sometimes but I do try.

I actually try to make some kind of comment to every comment on my posts. I guess I see it as "thanks" for visiting my post. But I do fall behind sometimes (often).

I ignore lot of people who don't even comment on their on discussion lol. I think it's fair to ignore such pepople who just create their thread and come back after a day or two.

@skysnap lol that is fair enough! I usually stay away from those sorts too. I usually can not be bothered trying to type out a meaningful comment if the poster isn't even going to read it.

I think the new people may not quite realise how the site works, but if they don't bother to reply to my response I will think twice about visiting them again.

@jaboUK That is fair enough! I agree that new people probably don't get the gist of the site but people who have been here for years hardly get back to anyone. Sometimes it bothers me and sometimes it doesn't.

My pet peeve is people whose posts I comment on who never come over and comment on mine. But we're all free to make our own decisions. If someone doesn't comment to comments on their own posts, they will "suffer," as no lengthy conversations will occur on their posts. A post "takes off" when a lot of people are having animated conversations in the comments to that post.

Some I think don't like to go back to previous posts even if there are new replies to them. Some don't know the answer to the question or don;t think it important enough to answer. Few are choosy (no kidding) and only answering back to certain people. Some are not that frequent here so they often lose the notifications in between the breaks. Some are just doing exactly what you suggested, luring people in and getting responses. But those kinds get ignored right back as soon as the people responding do not get replies. So they either change their ways or just leave. Word of advise from world renowned Saint DJ: It's fun to ignore people. You should try that sometime.

We all need one another and this should be the spirit of interaction. You are free to start your own discussion but feel free to read what has been posted by others and even make comments. This is what makes the activity in the site fun. That's why we have the explore tab that lists down discussions in categories.

I honestly don't know what people are doing and why on this site. I know there can be days you won't see me back for days , due to a hectic family life. I will answer everyone, but maybe not for a day or even a week later, hopefully everyone will start to answer one another, Or possibly still trying to figure out the site.

@DianneN lol noooo! No there is a big difference between you and the people I am talking about. I have interacted with you here and there so you do talk back and if you didn't, I do know you have your own things going on. I'm talking about specific MyLotters who never ever reply back even when people are trying to help them or never reply back and wonder why they aren't making any money etc. Those kinds of situations.

I also had quite a number of experiences here seemingly ignored with my comments or responses. As you said, there really are people who just post a discussion and don't bother to acknowledge those who make comments on their discussions.

I know what you mean. But there is usually a reason for that. One, the person just don't care. Two, the person is buy in their real life and does not have time to answer every singe comment. I always try to reply back to comments made on my posts. But sometimes I find that I never receive them to reply back. Like they get lost. So, what I do from time to time is I go to my posts and check to see if there is a comment I need to play to.

@VivaLaDani13 I get you. I know what you mean. Those people seem to be the types of people that want to try and earn as much as possible so they go and reply to almost all the posts. Which is, by the way, a very stupid thing to do. I am here first for the enjoyment and the people I know. And secondly for the little money I do earn. But let's not worry about those people. As long as we enjoy being here.

@inertia4 I agree with you. I know MyLot isn't everything and I'm not talking about these kinds of people who have busy lives. I'm more talking about the ones who you can see are here for hours and hours posting away but not ever getting back to people. I'm understanding of others who have busy lives so I get that but I'm just confused how others who spend a long time here over so many years and never or hardly get back to anyone.

I agree with you! To me, it makes absolutely no sense! The whole purpose of this site is to interact with people and comment back and forth. I try my best to comment on any post I read, and I also do my best to reply back to people who have commented on my posts. By the way, you may get mad at me because I have been commenting on a lot of your posts today! lol

Most comments are routine that you aren't going to reply to because all there is to say is something mundane in return. You hit the like in appreciation they left a comment. Sometimes a discussion goes on and on especially when political and it reaches a point when you have had enough as you are going in circles. So I am guilty of not responding to every comment because I simply have nothing of value to add.

What I don't like is comments made just to comment. Stuff like I don't know, or I have no opinion, or I don't watch that program. Why do they answer if they don't have something to say? There are many discussions to choose from and more all the time.
