Annual renewals for health coverage is like making sure you ain't dead yet.

I hate it when I get a notification that my insurance needs renewing. I then wonder, do they think I am dead or not the same exact person I was 12 months ago? And worse than that, they notify you about renewing 6 months before you have to do it. I am glad I don't have to renew my driver's license every year, my library card every year and my bank card every single year. It could get really bothersome.

I read a post about a man, I think Canadian, who had a service-connected disability. He lost his legs in action. Every year, he has to fill out a statement saying that his legs are still missing. Did they expect them to grow back? Things are more ridiculous every year.

That is a very focused point to make. It really addresses the issue well.

Why can't you just keep it. why do you have to renew it anyways. We got some insurance when we got out here and now Oregon is not taking that insurance any more at the end of the year. So we have to get new insurance in January.
