Do you wonder why you don't get a lot of responses on your myLot posts?

I think this topic has been popular for a while now. People always wonder why they aren't getting comments and likes on posts. I have a reason. It may not apply to you but it does apply to a few people. Look at your list of discussions - scroll down - How often do you post? How many responses do you see? 1 or 2, or 15 or 20? If you see that you are only getting a few responses a lot of the reason is because you are posting too often. If you are posting one an hour, hour after hour, you are: . Not giving people the opportunity to respond to you. . Turning people off. The idea of this site is interaction - you need to give people time to interact by not inundating them with posts. You are so right - personally if someone is posting a lot I will only read one, perhaps two, of them, and skip the rest. I get a lot of responses just because I don't post often.

When I see many posts from the same person I usually read the first and skip all the others. I prefer to interact with more people than to leave many comments to the same person. One thing that I have noticed, those who write a lot, most of the time do not reply to comments. I am making a clean up among those I follow.

@AbbyGreenhill I am doing the same, I visit many users every day and some of them never dare to reply to comments. I am not going to lose my time with them.

They don't get many comments because most of those multi-posts have very little of value in them. I unfriended a few here and on Facebook.

The most I post is three in one day. I know some people post much more often than that and get double what I get. That is all I can handle at one time.

Recently i post less and less, sometimes days go by without posting discussions because l have nothing to say really, but i still reply to discussions. In the period that l do not post, l have come to see that l get very little responses from people l follow, maybe because they do not know i posted? Having said that, im not going to post a 1 line discussion like "im having coffee/lunch etc and you? too boring

@AbbyGreenhill The 1 line posts are so boring to me and i get nothing from them so l mostly do not reply to them.Hope l don't get desperate for replies to post every time l have a coffee.I want to think im a bit more creative and if my creative mind is blank, l stay quiet.

I agree i see some people post all day and wonder why nobody is responding. It's hard to keep up on all the post especially when you have alot of followers. That's why I post once a day or once a week depending on how much time I have.

I post one a day but I still only get 7 or 8 responses. I only just came back though after a long break so I don't really have many followers. I'm happy with those responses though.

I don't plan on posting that many discussions. I like time to interact by commenting on people's posts and having time to answer questions if somebody had them on my own posts. Besides, I don't have that many ideas for discussions. I just want to post them when I've genuinely been thinking about the topic.Good points you are making here.

Great advice. Some days I do post a little too often, but that's because I only have a short amount of time to be here. Other days I can come and go and come and go so I spread things out a bit. It all depends on the day.

Too many posts is not a good strategy nor are placing them in a close time frame though many people have limited time and have to post 2 or 3 relatively close. I will say photo posts are an exception. Those are very popular. Sometimes you want to go crazy and post a bunch thinking what a return you'll get but it never works that way here.

You got that right. I save most of my photos...I write for a friend's blog and I can put as many as I want so I save the good stuff for there. It doesn't gain me anymore since I get paid by post, but it may gain visitors to the blog, which in turn continues my 'employment'
