My wife, Anne's, "Broken Heart" 3D art quilt

Anne was diagnosed a few months ago with Atrial Defibrillation. It is a disease suffered by many, including some who write here on MyLot. She was prescribed a blood thinning prescription and went through the process of determining the correct dose to regulate her "regular, irregular" heartbeat. In her creative way, she began envisioning a heart quilt, then it became a 3D heart quilt. She finished it recently and will show it at the regional Studio Art Quilters Assn. conference in Salem, Oregon in September. The EKG pad to show it on was a last minute addition. It was such a creative effort that I wanted to share it.

That is so cool! I didn't know 3D quilting was possible! I hope she wins a prize or something for it. Will your wife be okay?

Yes, it is a common problem I know, so nothing to be alarmed about really. Thanks for asking.

Your wife has found a way to show off her quilting talents as well as give us a good look at how our hearts work. Pure genius

A friend of hers whose husband is an MD, was amazed at the likeness in fabric.

Before I read this, I had to look a couple times before I realized it's an actual heart ( I just woke from a nap.) Very creative!

that is a very heartfelt creative effort - I hope that it is shown to many together with the story of her own plight.

Good for your wife! She is being proactive and using creativity as a way to deal with her illness. That is healing in itself.

That's a wonderful reaction to misfortune: to turn it into a work of art!
