Home from a hot one, quite a sweating evening on the ol' miniature golf course. I came in second in both the tournament and best ball. That's okay with me! Time to scrub off the suntan lotion, but first, here's another one of my favorite songs by "Gentleman Jim" Reeves, my all-time favorite singer. #11: Lonesome Waltz "Today your life is music." Okay, see y'all tomorrow! Yeah, it's a song about music and a musician, so I'm going to like it. Here a man asks an apparent old love, who's on her way to stardom ("famous they say you will be") to "write a lonesome waltz for me." If you've noticed I tend to like these mid-tempo sad songs. They were right up Reeves' alley. "I don't consider myself a sad person," he once said while admitting that he liked doing sad songs. Well, he did them oh, so well, no wonder he liked doing them! Lonesome Waltz Written by Eddie Pleasant From A Touch of Sadness, 1968 I love the demo version that's on the box set, but that's not on You Tube. Here, therefore, is a not-too-overdubbed overdubbed version from the album:

I've said this a hundred times, but brings back fond memories of my grandpa, my actual real adult role model. Thanks for these!
