Do you know how to use your Bible or religious sacred book to defend your faith in God, His son Jesus, and the Bible?

I remember talking to a person who claimed they knew the Bible and so I ask him where was the first marriage performed in the Bible? He smuggly with a smile on his face said in Genesis. I ask him to show me and he said: "With so many books in the Bible", he needed time to find Genesis and then he would show me where God performed the first marriage once he locates the Bible book of Genesis!! How very sad that this gentleman did not realize or know Genesis is the very FIRST Book of the Bible. Do you know how to reason from the scriptures to back up your spiritual beliefs?

Well, Adam and Eve were the first married couple so he was correct that it was in Genesis. Funny, though, that he didn't know where to find it... I still struggle to find the "little" books like Nahum, Haggai...most of the minor prophets, really. Or are you talking about the first wedding ceremony mentioned in the Bible? Wouldn't that be Jacob's marriage to Leah?

First wedding ever performed in the Bible. And yes the gentleman knew that account was in Genesis, he just didn't know where to find the book of Genesis to back up his answer :( I always tell people that if they are struggling with finding the books of the Bible or where to find a particular book and verse in the Bible. Use the Table of contents to find the Bible book's page. LARGE numbers are the chapters, small numbers are the verses.

@Genipher Most people do not know God personally performed the first marriage Himself in the Garden of Eden. Yes after that there were other marriages performed by man.

@itslikethistome Ah, so you WERE talking about the first marriage and not the first wedding ceremony. Yeah, Adam and Eve are the obvious answer.
