Anyone able to share some tips on grooming retriever? My golden seem to have some infection on the tummy area. Maybe it's the humid weather...I don't know.

I think there are seasons when our dogs will have frequent falling hair and will have allergies on the skin but if it gets worse, you have to go consult a veterinarian already for professional advice. My golden retriever has calcium deficiency problems. She can't walk that far like 30 minutes coz her bones are weak. She walks a bit awkward but still as sweet and at present Im not having problems regarding her scalp and hair. Just go see a vet and you'll make your dog happy.

thanks for your response. Yes, they are just great dogs. Her tummy is getting better...I think it was because it has been raining for weeks and she got a bit damp and never really got dry.

Poor puppy dog. I always say that to my dog Jake when a train goes by. Once he hears the horn of a train, he will start howling so pitifully that I almost begin crying with him. Then I act like I'm talking to the train and tell it to hurry up and go on before I start crying with my dog. I don't know how to groom a golden retriever's tummy. You might have to ask the vet about it.

before starting the trimming always brush and comb its hair from top to tail so if there is tangles you can easily remove them...always use a thinning scissor in cutting... and never cut across the hair... keep combing throughout the session...
