Would love to get some feedback on this site. Anyone in the mylot community working/writing for this company? Have you heard good, bad, or downright ugly opinions about Upwork?

Been with Upwork (formerly Odesk and Elance) for almost a year now. I'm in the legal category. I draft and review legal documents for clients. I also do legal & general translation. I know some have difficulties getting hired on Upwork because of the stiff competition. I do get lots of projects under the legal category even if I have to compete with a number of lawyers and paralegals all over the world. In fact, I even have to decline some offers and interviews because I have a regular job here in the Firm and I only allot weekends and weeknights for remote projects. It all depends on how a freelancer drafts his proposal. One should sell himself well and deliver quality projects to clients promptly. I was never scammed. I only accept interviews and offers from clients with verified ayment methods which can be seen on the job post and their profile. This guarantees my payment for all of my hourly and fixed price projects. All payment came in as scheduled. I never experienced a delayed payment.

Another newbee, with so many sites dropping off the web I'm surprised there is a newbee. This is the first I've heard of this one but I'll check it out just in case. Thanks

No I haven't. I've been out of the work online mode for awhile. Getting back to it, though. I'll check this one out myself and look for the responses on this thread. Looking at it, seems like Amazon's Mechanical Turk.
