Have you met the person of your dreams yet?

Most people want to meet the perfect partner and be happy with them for the rest of their lives .. but it doesn't happen for everyone. I am in my 60s and still feel he never came along although I've had happy relationships. Maybe my expectations are too high. Have you met your soul mate or are you still waiting? Do you think it's just a myth or do you think he/she exists?

I don't think it's a myth. I believe it's true. But I have never tried hard to find the perfect match for me. Because I am not much interested with those kind of things. Who knows, maybe I will stay unmarried and have no children. I think life will be less complicated that way.

Hi there DnkH. Great to see you here :) Some people never want to marry and have children and I think it's good that you know what you want and don't blindly follow others. Life is certainly less complicated if you have no ties.

@sprite1950 Hi! I saw you joined here five years ago! I see it that way too. Less ties, less complications.

@DnkHrth Was it really 5 years ago, I didn't realise it was that long! I've only come back here recently and I must say I'm liking it at the moment. Stay single as long as you can, have fun before responsibility comes along :)

I think getting the perfect partner is like a process because you have to first court each other and get to know each other better. Then once you decide to go on into the marriage institution, then its definitely your hopes to live happily but ts only your contribution as the two partners that will make the marriage succeed.

You're absolutely right. He puts far more into the relationship than I do and it does make me feel mean but I'm not sure if he is right for me.

@sprite1950 If you think he is doing something commendable for the relationship then you have to try and reciprocate the same otherwise you may risk losing him because you never know what he really think of your being together.

I know exactly what you mean Katrine. I have been with someone for 14 year and we get along ok but I don't know if he is the man of my dreams.
