This is why myLot works. I am making connections and learning more about the world around me and the various interesting people that I can now pick their brains! How wonderful an opportunity! What do you think of American Pharaoh winning the Triple Crown!? Is US and English racing similar? (I admit, I'm not a math person, so units of measurement and conversions are not my specialty haha) Are the lengths of the races similar, or are there any significant differences, have you noticed? I know the race entry requirements have changed, so there is some grumbling in the US racing world about unfair advantages. Having said that, I am SO RELIEVED I was able to see a Triple Crown winner in my lifetime. I'm hoping to see more, but who knows now with all the advances in technology and genetics.

Oh yes he is a true champion. I think the world is shrinking as far as Horse racing is concerned - your horses won some races at Royal Ascot here this summer, and ours win all over the world - Australia, Japan, France etc. Racing conditions seem to be similar everywhere now - a real international sport. Btw - you ought perhaps to change this a bit - we are not allowed to direct discussions at a specific person, or even a small group of people. Just change the direct questions to me and make them general, so that anyone can jump in on the discussion if they so desire.

I wonder where the name Pharoah came from... That was the king of Egypt. He made slaves of the Jewish people (before they became the Jewish people, they were the sons of Jacob) Do you like horse race ? Why ? I rarely watch it, and I think that it makes interest for gambling. The victims are the horses that have no freedom. I'm glad we have banned the gambling on horse races (because of the money loss it causes to poor people that hope to win some easy money), and we banned the participation of animals in circus shows. That's just pure cruelty. Leave the animals alone.

I think the naming process comes from the horses' lineage, I'm not sure. I ride horses for pleasure, not for gain. I don't gamble, at least with my money haha j/k, and especially not on living creatures of any sort. We still have "performing" animals here in the U.S. I think it all depends on the situation of how the animals came to be with their "owner"/friend.
