Miele Favouritism Over At Which UK Magazine

Well I have been on the phone this afternoon with Which Magazine - a glossy magazine subscription that I pay every month for consumer news and keeps me up to date with consumer issues, gadgets and of course at times tests on cars, vacuum cleaners and other household appliances. As an online product reviewer who writes product reviews in their spare time and noted for a meticulous and comprehensive approach by a journalist at The Independent newspaper in the UK, I naturally headed towards the product test reports of several vacuum cleaners including my favourite brands, Bosch, SEBO, Miele and a few others. The Queen uses SEBO vacuums; so does The White House and even Celine Dion has been known to use a SEBO vacuum… Which UK clearly indicate on their site that they have tested 19 SEBO vacuums. However, it would appear they have only tested 16 vacuums on the site with 2 existing models that are only for the commercial market; the Dart 2 and the 91300GB Evolution upright. I find that strange because Which don’t test commercial vacuums; I don’t see any VICTOR or Nilfisk commercial vacuums that have been tested on the site. (Word to the wise, Which - they are used in big factories and industries) For a magazine that likes to be consistent, it seems I have stumbled across a rather worrying indication that Which UK adore Miele and very few other brands. After all, when looking at their various vacuum cleaners online, it would appear that other German rivals such as Bosch and SEBO have test reports but the opportunity for members to add their own views is not available. Evidence? SEBO E1 Excel - (Rated Best Buy) tested 01 February 2016 - CANT BE REVIEWED SEBO E1 Pro - (Rated Best Buy) tested 01 February 2016 - CANT BE REVIEWED SEBO FELIX KUDOS - (Rated Best Buy) tested 01 February 2016 - CANT BE REVIEWED. SEBO FELIX NAVY ECO (Rated Best Buy) - tested 01 February 2016 - CANT BE REVIEWED. SEBO FELIX ROYALE ECO - (Rated Best Buy) tested 01 February 2016 - CANT BE REVIEWED. SEBO FELIX ROSSO ECO - (Rated Best Buy) tested 01 February 2016 - CANT BE REVIEWED. SEBO FELIX PET ECO - (Rated Best Buy) tested 01 February 2016 - CANT BE REVIEWED. SEBO E1 PET - (Rated Best Buy) TESTED 01 FEB 2016 - MEMBER REVIEWS CAN be posted, but this is probably because the model was tested by a rival online company and have given it full marks. (trustedreviews.com) Over to Miele's other rival brand Bosch and the recently tested Bosch In'genius ProPerform BGL8AAAAGB vacuum cleaner tested on 1st of June 2016 also has no facility for members to write their own views. HOWEVER, if it is a Miele vacuum cleaner; open review sections allowed. And who, by coincidence got the Best Brand Award for 2016? Can you guess? Miele! Evidence? The Miele Complete C3 Powerline SGDE1HS15 tested on 1 February 2016 can be member reviewed. The Miele Compact C3 CatDog PowerLine SDBE1 tested on 1 February 2016 can also be member reviewed. The Miele Classic C1 Junior Powerline tested on 1 February 2016 can also be member reviewed. The Miele Complete C3 Boost Ecoline SGSG1HS15 tested on 1 February 2016 can also be member reviewed. Miele Complete C3 Cat & Dog - tested on 1 January 2016 - can also be member reviewed. So, with a paying monthly subscription of £7-95, I ask myself whether this INCONSISTENT approach for knowing about appliances and gadgets is actually worth it? Am I able to submit my own views actually encouraged by WHICH since I am just a domestic buyer and consumer? In short Which UK - you need to get your finger out. Not helped by your customer service team who dropped two calls on me when I phoned earlier. Miaow! (c)crystalvisions2016

Now that *is* interesting. Also interestingly, no-one has reviewed the available review magazines and websites... Or have they?

I dont know. I dont think I have reviewed them. I have a few mags from the 1970s, 80s and 1990s so its easy to see the inconsistencies of information. lists a positive review out of 5 stars but the writer gave Which only 3,
