Day 154 Psalm 133 Psalm 133:1 < Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. (KJV) We do our best to describe those moments in our lives that meant the most to us. Sometimes words just aren’t adequate enough and then there are times when we hit the perfect description for how we feel. David described what unity felt like. He started with good and pleasant, moved to precious and on to dew on the mountains where God commanded the blessing to Israel. He described unity in increments as though savoring the thought of each emotion before coming up with another even better way to describe how we should dwell with each other. As Christians, we should dwell together in unity with everyone, not just fellow Christians. When we live in peace and unity, it reflects on everything we do and people will take notice. Unity affects our attitudes and how we treat each other. We are more willing to give a helping hand than to turn away someone in need because we have more important things to do. That’s the way of the world, not the way we are to act as Christians. When that happens it will feel like we are living in perpetual blessing from God and that is the best place to be, just as Jerusalem was the best place for the Israelites to live. Have you found that place of perpetual blessing in your life? Do you live in unity with everyone around you? You can. Then you will know how good and pleasant it really is. Let’s pray: Father, help me live in unity with everyone around me. Let me know how good and pleasant it is when I make the effort to live in peace with my neighbors and those I meet daily. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 20 August 2016 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

I find each day I'm blessed to know that Jesus is my Savior and I try to be kind to all people I come in contact with. Unity is so very important especially among the churches and Christians. The world is watching us and how we treat one another. Good discussion Valerie!

AMEN! Having peace of mind and living in unity with others is indeed a blessing. A blessing that is often overlooked by others. Thank you for this post for reminding us this.
