What a long day! We had a rain delay (nothing unusual for us) and some tough playing, but I'm in just six strokes off the lead. After a long day I'm ready for my foot to soak and to close my Jim Reeves list on this, the 93rd anniversary of his birth. #1: Blue Side of Lonesome My favorite song by my favorite singer. What a great song. And here's a shock: it's yet another Leon Payne tune. Originally on his album of pure country released on the budget label (I've addressed that before), Jim took Payne's song and transformed it into a masterpiece. It's bad enough to be lonesome but there's a blue side? Linda could have done this one.

This is an amazing song and just about brings me to tears whenever I hear it. Interesting to know more of the background and good luck with the mini-golf.
