My response to just one of four of @Jessicalynnt ‘s poetry challenges I have to catch up since my computer was temporarily mothballed for the big house move. This time the key words to incorporate as chosen by Jessica are ‘harvest, adventure, boots, horse, and truck. Poem – May I Live In Boring Times I have no truck with those who say I need to go on an adventure. The very word suggests a love of hardship, danger and conflict. I’m happy to travel and commune with Mother Nature Why would I seek out that which is likely to inflict Harm upon me? Keep your license to kill. My boots were made for walking, not soldiering. I’m quite happy to climb up a hill But only to admire the view, not to set a fortress smouldering And blazing. I’ll pay to ride a horse rather than steal one. I’m a tourist, not a mercenary. I’ll still be here when the thrill seekers have gone The quiet life is the perfect quest for me Pints, pens, photos and poetry, Sometimes helping to bring the harvest home, An adventure in my own peace, quiet and tranquillity. You fight all the noble causes you want, while I find somewhere nice to roam. Arthur Chappell

I pictured myself in an exciting time of peace, quiet and tranquility as you described. We live in the country over a hill, surrounded by trees and Mother Nature. Where can I find these challenges Jessica started? Sounds intereting.

Both sides to a coin and to bad the world does not realize they need both. The difference is you know who you are and they do not. Not all the way anyways. Well done poem where I knew exactly what you meant. Weather you know what I meant is a different story. lol

@crossbones27 very true, as we do need the adventurers to protect us so we can chill out too

Imagine if you could read your poems in a Bush Poetry Society like they do in Australia - Judy was telling me her's will be read soon. You write some very unique pieces
