This saying that a friend in need is a friend indeed is a phrase that has a meaning to us in real life.If you randomly ask people who a friend is to them, they will definitely have different answers. Some will say a friend is someone who enjoys their company as the dine and wine together even if they are not getting anything from them.Others will say a friend is one who helps them financially or materially in case they encounter any problems. But all in all it depends on individuals on whom they think a friend is to them.
But then your successes or failures is a great determinant of who remains to be your friend or who cease to be one.As you get saturated in your success, you will definitely have many friends some of who are just but pretenders. They will only pretend to be happy for you but if things take a new turn, they will be the first to gossip behind your back.
So I think true friends will dine with you in success and still be there for you as you suffer with sorrow.

True. Often times the only way to know if a friend is genuine and sincere is through the way they respond to your problems and suffering.

a true friend is hard to find. You will know if she's a true friend if during those hard times in your life she is still there for you.

I definitely agree. Friends are people who can count on each other.

I think that the word friend has been devalued a little since social media, people collect friends and friend people so that some have hundreds on their page. True friendship is precious, if you have even one true friend you are a very fortunate person indeed.
