Texas Rangers activate LHP Derek Holland from the disabled list

Stephen Hunt reports the news on Tuesday the Texas Rangers have activated from the 60 day disabled list left handed starting pitcher Derek Holland. Holland will be the starting pitcher for the Rangers on Tuesday evening when the Cincinnati Reds who will be the host team at Great American Ballpark. Holland had been placed on the 15 day disabled list on June 22 which was retroactive to June 21, 2016 with inflammation of his left shoulder. Since Holland was not involved in any baseball activities to the 60 day disabled list on July 15, 2016. Holland had been pitching in a rehabilitation assignment with the Round Rock Express which is the AAA minor league team of the Rangers before he was promoted to pitch for the team on Tuesday. If Holland can stay healthy and pitch to his potential for the remainder of the 2016 baseball season, the Rangers can make a run to represent the American League in the 2016 World Series.
