When I was a kid I loved to read. I have a wonderful collection of books. Actually those days we did not have TV so even to meet Micky Mouse we needed a book. My son also loves to read. When he was a baby I brought him bath books and he could turn the pages and show the characters when we named them. I think you can cultivate the reading habit in any child with the proper guidence. In Sri Lanka they make the child read first at an auspicious time (I don't believe that rubbish). Till then parents avoid giving them books with letters. What fools. If those rituals really worked we should be ruling the world.

I completely agree with you. Proper guidance is the key. It has been my habit to read her books since she was just a few weeks old. Luckily it had developed a nice habit. Thanks for the reply. Regards to your son..
