It's been hot. Miserably hot. So we turn on the A/C and it chugs away, working hard to do barely anything.
To make living more tolerable we close all the curtains and live in the dark.
I'm starting to feel a bit like Dracula! Any beam of light that passes into the house has me hissing.
We also fill the living room with fans.
Little F, apparently, doesn't agree with that move.
Every time I turn around he's unplugging them.
Over and over we correct him, plug the things back in, stand in front of what little breeze we can stir, and try not to die.
Next thing we know the house is a sweltering sauna because the one-year-old can't keep his little nubs off the knobs!
Gah!
Can it be winter yet? Please!?

Guess what? And this is the first time it has ever happened to me...I had a dream and in my dream you were there! A couple of months back somebody posted a discussion in mylot about dreaming of a mylot member and never had i thought it would happen to me. And when i saw this discussion of yours, I suddenly just recalled my dream! Pretty weird!
Please don't rush the winter, it'll be too cold lol!

That's still amusing...and I feel sort of honored, in a weird way.

Well, we don't get nearly as hard as the southern states with the heat. It still gets rather miserable here.
Really? The whiten noise of the fan doesn't do it for you, eh? I've found them to be helpful in keeping little ones asleep. It drowns out the noise of what's going on around them.

That's one thing Oregon doesn't deal with. At least not yet. Do you guys gather rain in barrels, when you have your "monsoon"?

Ah, I'm familiar with that scenario, too. sigh.
And all the chains for the ceiling fans have been broken, so now they're real short. And ugly.

We live in a house that has 20 inch thick stone walls that means it stays cool in summer and warm(ish) in winter. The building has been standing more than 400 years and was built to last - but not built with humans in mind as until 30-odd years ago it was an agricultural barn.

lol Don't rush things. Time is going to fast already. He might think it's funny to unplug things. You could put the fan against the wall so he won't get to the cord.

I dislike the summer for that. But summer is the time when the schools close, so it's good for that :P
